
Couples Therapy
Relationships can be a lot of things. They can be fun, supportive, loving, connecting, healing, engaging, and thought provoking. Relationships can push us to be our best selves and teach us new things about ourselves and the world.
Relationships are also challenging and require work. Couples therapy is sought for a variety of reasons. Some couples seek psychotherapy to strengthen their connection or prepare for the next step in their lives together. Others come in crisis, uncertain of their futures or whether resolution of their problems is even possible.
Conflict is normal and healthy. However, how we engage with conflict sets the stage for the quality of our relationships. I am trained to help you develop tools to better communicate and hear each other. I work to help you explore what is and isn't working in your relationship. It is very important to get past our defenses and gain understanding. Once we feel heard, we are better able to hear our partner.
